The most studied Hsp70 members include the cytosolic stress-induced Hsp70 (Hsp72), the constitutive cytosolic Hsc70 (Hsp73), and the ER-localized BiP (Grp78). Hsp70 family members contain highly conserved N-terminal ATP-ase and C-terminal protein binding domains. Binding of peptide to Hsp70 is assisted by Hsp40, and stimulates the inherent ATPase activity of Hsp70, facilitating ATP hydrolysis and enhanced peptide binding. Hsp70 nucleotide exchange and substrate binding coordinates the folding of newly synthesized proteins, the re-folding of misfolded or denatured proteins, coordinates trafficking of proteins across cellular membranes, inhibits protein aggregation, and targets the degradation of proteins via the proteasomal pathway.

Beskrivning: Arachidonic acid is converted by cyclooxygenase (COX) to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2), which is further converted to the derivative prostanoids PGD2, PGE2, PGF2α, PGI2 (prostacyclin) and thromboxane A2 (TXA2). Five classes of prostanoid receptors are recognized and named DP, EP, FP, IP and TP receptors corresponding to the agonist properties of the associated prostanoids. FP receptors are found in smooth muscle where they mediate contraction, and are believed to be coupled via Gq/11 subunits to stimulate phosphatidyl inositol (PI) hydrolysis. The FP agonist Fluprostenol (a PGF2α analogue) is used in animal husbandry to synchronize oestrus and induce partruition. FP receptors are known to mediate intraocular pressure, and FP agonists such as latanoprost and travoprost are drugs commonly use to treat glaucoma.
