Bump caps serve in situations where a hard hat is not typically required by protection is beneficial in situations where workers might bump their heads. These applications include manufacturing and maintenance, heavy equipment and machinery assembly, food and beverage, HVAC and electrical work, installation, and other areas where low head height might be of concern. Bump caps have a hard shell yet are thinner than a traditional hard hat, and are more breathable than their hard hat counterparts.
